Wear or nothing at all...

"The principal makes her round". Early 80s dress with detachable sash.
You can use it as a neck ribbon for the proper look or tie it around the waist as a belt... over here, i have added a thin black vintage patent belt. I do find this dress slightly "oldish", but it is not without its merits. With some creativity, it can look so much better...

By simply cutting in the sleeves and adding a bright red belt, the dress can look totally different. In fact, make this dress into a halter dress with the beautiful collar, it will compensate for its shortcomings instantly. Up the modern quotient by cropping of the length to make it more youthful.

Contrary to what others might think, for me, one of the best things about buying vintage is the fun in reconstructing many of these gems into something new, while retaining the beautiful fabric and essence of the original pieces.

Another outfit featured today is from the land of volcanoes and Hula Girls....

"Pahoehoe" Hawaiian dress with one pocket by the front.
